The peer-reviewed scientific journal Architecture Papers of the Faculty of Architecture and Design STU focusses on architecture, urbanism, and design concerning the history, philosophy, psychology, and practice-based research in and through the arts. The concept of the journal is built around a wide perspective of current topics in architectural culture, construction, or social- and environment-related challenges. The main ambition is to share the most recent and original authorial research findings to help the branch of architecture further develop and gain ground in the society. The journal also features critical theoretical inquiries, articles on educational methodology, and reviews and conclusions of research projects.
The journal ALFA has been published by the Faculty of Architecture of the Slovak University of Technology since 1996, on a quarterly basis. It underwent graphic- and content-related changes in 2011. In 2019, it was flipped and published also electronically. Since 2020, the journal has been published solely in full electronic form as an open access journal. Since 2021, editorials and papers of this scientific journal have been published also at Sciendo (that provides DOI and some indexing services) by 2 weeks after the publication date on this website.
