The main mission of the Detached Department in Banská Štiavnica is to develop innovations and progressive forms of education and scientific research in the professional fields of the faculty. It also develops activities based on multidisciplinary cooperation of domestic and foreign schools and institutions in solving scientific and research tasks and specific regional problems. The center also organizes events corresponding to the development of local tourism. In its activities, it uses the unique potential of historical Banská Štiavnica - a site inscribed on the UNESCO World and Cultural Heritage List.
