1st place Marian Krcheň / Hurbanove kasárne - adaptation for a new purpose
The interior of the ground floor is free of partitions. The creation of new openings in the interior is minimized. A new entrance from Mariánska Street has been created for trouble-free access. Barrier-free access is represented by a barrier-free toilet and a raised floor in the lower floor area. The premises will be used by the Satelit gallery and the Slovak Museum of Design for exhibitions of 2D and 3D objects of various kinds, which is why the space is neutral in color and complemented by wooden decor in a light shade.
3rd place Anna Gergelyová / Slovak Design Center
The interior of the Slovak Design Center, located in the former Hurbanov Barracks in Bratislava, is designed so that all functions of the center are interconnected within one building. It preserves the historical character of the building with a reference to the military past in contrast with modern elements of the facility. Colors and materials are used as part of the navigation system to intuitively orient visitors.
