FAD STU is located at Náměstí slobody No. 19 in Bratislava near the Government Office of the Slovak Republic. The building is one of the masterpieces of architect Emil Belluš. It was built in 1947-1950 and renovated in the 1980s. The building has five floors above ground and two underground floors. Barrier-free modifications were implemented in 2016-2017 as part of the Development Project of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Slovak Republic under the leadership of the Research and Training Center for Barrier-Free Design CEDA (Centre of Design for All). The FAD building is a national cultural monument, and therefore all modifications to ensure the barrier-free accessibility of the building are carried out in accordance with the requirements of the Regional Monuments Authority.
