Slovak-American Foundation Opens a New Application Round
The Board of Directors of the Slovak-American Foundation based on the demand for the scholarship program opens a fall application round with the deadline of October 15, 2011.
The Slovak-American Foundation (SAF) inaugurated earlier this year closed a very successful first application round with a high number of applications. The SAF program generated a great interest both in the Professional Internship Program and the Research Scholar Program.
*** The Professional Internship Program is open for university students and recent graduates with a focus on entrepreneurship, providing a scholarship of up to $30,000 USD to spend up to 12 months in the U.S.
*** The Research Scholar is open for professors and academic researchers with a focus on entrepreneurship, providing a scholarship up to $60,000 USD to spend up to 12 months in the U.S.
Six deserving graduate students of UNIBA, EUBA and STUBA in business and eningeering with a strong entrepreneurial focus were selected in June, and SAF is looking forward to more excellent candidates, primarily from district universities.
In the Research Scholar Program one successful applicant, Marek Nemčovič, PhD, Assistant Professor of the Department of Glycobiology of the Institute of Chemistry of the Slovak Academy of Sciences was selected.
The Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE) administrator of the SAF programs is currently preparing the award recipients for their October-November departure to the United States.
Application deadline: October 15, 2011, decision notifications by December 15, 2011. Successful applicants depart in the spring of 2012.
